6 Days Birding Safari.
Day 1: Entebbe
Arrive at Entebbe Airport where you will be met by our representative for African Secrets Safaris and later be transferred to Cassia Lodge or Sophie's Motel or Flight Motel Entebbe for an overnight.
Day 2: Birding in Entebbe
After breakfast, you will have morning bird trip around shores of Lake Victoria, botanical gardens, shrubs and swamps that support variety of species and Lutembe Beach. These include: Lesser jacana, blue-breasted bee-eater and localized Red Chested sun bird being common ones. Others include African Pygmy-goose, Hemerkop, Hadad Ibis, Crowned-crane, Long-toed Lapwing, Grey parrot Red headed lovebird, Black headed weaver, Ross's Turaco. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Kampala to Mabamba - Lake Mburo national park
After early breakfast drive to Mabamba Wetland – famous for shoebill and other avian species Yellow-backed Weaver, Grey-headed Gull, Long-tailed Cormorant, Common Squacco Heron, Yellow-billed Duck, Pied Kingfisher, Giant Kingfisher, Swamp Flycatcher, Broad-billed Roller, Black-and-white Casqued Hornbill, Splendid Glossy Starling, Black-headed Gonolek, Orange Weave plus migratory birds. Lunch will be in Masaka. Then drive to Lake Mburo Dinner and overnight Mantana luxury tented camp/ Mihingo Lodge or Rwonyo camp.
Day 4: Lake Mburo National Park to Queen Elizabeth
After breakfast, take a game drive in an open savannah for birds like the Dove, Dideric Cuckoo, Grey-capped Warbler, Black-headed Weaver and Ring-necked Dove. Among other you will go searching for Brown-chested Lapwing, Lilac-breasted Roller, Black-bellied Bustard, Helmeted Guineafowl, Coqui Francolin, Rufous-napped Lark plus many raptors. Afternoon lunch drive to Queen Elizabeth National to take a nature walk in Maramagambo forest exploring the bat caves. Dinner and overnight Mweya safari Lodge /Institute of ecology (FB).
Day 5: Birding and boat trip on kazinga Channel
After breakfast, carryout birding in the vast savannah of Queen Elizabeth. Return to the lodge for lunch and afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel viewing game and watching a lot of birds. Kazinga channel is a magnet for water birds and in the vicinity of Mweya, acts as a migrant trap for birds moving a long the Albertine Rift. Birds include Great white and pink-backed pelican, Great and longer-tailed Cormorants, common Squacco Heron, African open-billed Storks, White-faced Whistling and knob-billed Ducks, African Fish Eagle, Black Crake, African Jacana, Water Thick knee, Spur-winged and King fishers, Swamp Flycatcher and yellow-backed Weaver. Back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park to Kampala
After breakfast take a game drive and proceed to Kampala which marks the end of this tour.
