Ultimate Primates adventure 8 Days: Uganda Safaris
Day 1. Arrival:
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be transferred to Kampala for dinner and overnight at Cassia Lodge/ Tourist Hotel.
Days 2: Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park:
After an early morning breakfast you will be met and transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park, situated on the Kazinga Channel between Lake Edward and Lake George, and to the south of the great Rwenzori Mountains. With rolling grasslands, craters and crater lakes, tropical forests, papyrus swamps and extensive lake shore, 'QE', as it is affectionately known, undoubtedly offers Uganda's best open country bird watching and wildlife-viewing. Upon arrival in the park you might spot the first wildlife, like waterbucks and warthogs, before arriving at your accommodation in the middle of the park. Dinner and overnight at Institute of Ecology Hostel.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and Boat cruise:
Visit Kyambura Gorge, where dense tropical forest harbours a large family of habituated Chimpanzees and a good selection of forest birds, including Black Bee-eater. While at Kyambura Gorge possible sightings include Chimpanzees, Red-tailed Monkey, Black and White Colobus and many bird species.
In the afternoon we take on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural link between Lake Edward and Lake George. Thanks to the abundant birdlife that is sighted and the hundreds of hippos that are cooling off at the shores, this cruise will definitely be one of the highlights of your safari. Dinner and overnight at Institute of Ecology Hostel.

Day 4: Queen to Bwindi Impenetrable national Park
Today you head for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in southwestern Uganda which is one of Africa's most extensive belts of primary montane forest. Its exceptional altitudinal variation - rising and falling from deep river gorges and low hills at 1,200 metres to high forested ridges at 2,800 metres - ensures a unique range of flora and fauna, in particular birds and primates. Mountain Gorillas are undoubtedly the prime attraction. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas.

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking tour
Hikers will love the gorilla trekking in the attractive ecosystem of the park. It is difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike; it may take two to eight hours. Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. But it will definitely be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience! For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these giant apes. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas.
Day 6: Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, depart Bwindi for Lake Mburo National Park having a game drive while entering the Park. Lake Mburo National Park has markedly different fauna to other Parks and Reserves, and its the best place in the country to see the gigantic Eland Antelope, as well as Zebra, Topi, Impala, and several Acacia -associated birds. The five lakes with in the Park attract Hippos, Crocodiles, and a variety of water birds, while fringing swamps hide secretive papyrus specialists such as the Sitatunga Antelope and Red, Black and Yellow Papyrus Gonalek. Have an evening game drive and over night at Mihingo Lodge (High end/luxurious accommodation), Mantana Tented Camp (mid-class) or UWA’s Tents (Low budget/basic accommodation). Full Board.
Day 7: Bird watching And Boat trip Tours
Early morning wake up for bird watching while on a game drive & get a chance to see species like the Brown Chested Plover, Red Faced Barbet, Southern Ground Hornbill, Papyrus Yellow Warbler, Yellow Billed Oxpecker, African Finfoot, Black Collard Barbet etc. Have an afternoon boat trip and later an early evening game drives and over night at Mihingo Lodge (High end/luxurious accommodation), Mantana Tented Camp (mid-class) or UWA’s Tents (Low budget/basic accommodation). Full Board.
Day 8: Lake Mburo National Park - Kampala
After breakfast have a game drive while leaving the Park, have a stop to look at the Royal Drum makers, stand on the Equator and be in both hemispheres at once arriving in Kampala in the evening and over night at either Cassia Lodge (High end/luxurious accommodation), Hotel Africana (Medium class accommodation) or Namirembe Guest House (Low budget/basic accommodation).
