7 Day Chimpanzee and Gorilla Safari
Day 1 Arrival and Kampala City Tour
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport where you will be met by our representative from African Secrets Limited who will warmly welcome you and be transferred to your Hotel. Depending on your arrival time, in the afternoon you may conduct a city tour. Dinner and overnight at Holiday Express.
Day 1 Kibale Forest National Park
Take breakfast and set off for Kibale Forest National Park. Have a stopover at Mityana for lunch. Then continue in the afternoon where you will have a chance to view the striking panorama of the area. Arrive late in the evening at Kibale Forest National Park. Dinner and overnight at Kanyanchu Community Camps Bandas for budget accommodation / Mantana tented Camp/ Ndali Lodge for Luxury Accommodation.
Day 2 Chimp Tracking in Kibale
Rise and take break fast, you will assemble at Kanyankyu tourist centre for a simple briefing before beginning the sensational chimpanzee viewing in Kibale National Park. This park is well known for having the highest number of primates in East Africa. After lunch have an early afternoon nature walk in Bigodi Swamp to view the butterflies and other insects. In this tropical swamps and their vegetation you will have a chance of seeing some water birds. Have an evening tour of the crater region, visit “top of the world’’, the natural bridge and observe the snow cap on the Rwenzori on a clear day. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will have breakfast at the lodge and thereafter transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. . A game drive en route is rewarding with animals like Elephants, Buffaloes, bush bucks, Waterbucks, hyenas, Lions among others. In the afternoon, you will go for a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel to see the various aquatic animals and birds that Queen Elizabeth national park. Dinner and over night at the Institute of Ecology hostel / for high end accommodation consider Mweya Safari Lodge/ Jacana Safari Lodge.
Day 4 Chimp Tracking in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Wake up very early in the morning and transfer to Kyambura wildlife Reserve which harbors 3 caters lakes that attract a number of flamingos not found anywhere in Uganda. The sheer Kyambura Gorge formed by the tumultuous waters of the roaring Kyambura River gives a luxuriant riverine forest, home to chimpanzees, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys and other primates as well as a copiousness of forest birds. A guided nature walk takes you into the gorge, which is very deep covered by a natural rain forest. Lunch en route. We then set off for Bwindi National park via the hills of Kabale arriving late this evening for dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas. Day 5 Gorilla Tracking
After an early breakfast, you will be briefed by the Ranger about today’s activity of Gorilla Tracking. Well prepared with your rain Jackets, packed lunch, hiking shoes, the rangers will provide walking sticks. Then after, they will lead you to the forest as you track these gentle giants. This is a very interesting activity but expect to trek as far as you can to find the gorillas in muddy places and more so the weather conditions may not be all that friendly as this is a natural tropical rainforest where it can rain anytime of the day. So please be informed of this. Alongside that, you will come across other species of birds and butterflies. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 6 Bwindi to Kampala
After an early morning breakfast, set off for Kampala. This drive is rewarding with beautiful sceneries, as you travel through the top-bottomed rolling hills, which is often known as the “Switzerland of Uganda”. Arrive in Mbarara late afternoon for your lunch and proceed via the flat area of Ankole.On reaching Mpigi district before you enter Kampala, we shall have a stop over at Mpambire Drum makers’ Village where you will shop souvenirs for remembrance of Uganda. Arrive in Kampala late in the evening for you dinner and overnight at Sheraton Hotel/ Holiday Express Hotel.
Day 7 Visit Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary
Take breakfast at the hotel and then visit Ngamba Chimpanzee sanctuary. After a short briefing by your guide, you will depart to the coast of lake Victoria to meet your 9.00am launch. On arrival you will be given a short introduction and briefing on the sanctuary. After which, its feeding time. It is interesting to watch the chimps interact with each other and their keepers. Watch the chimpanzees as they feed and then after catch the boat early enough back from the island for a mouth watering lunch at the zoo (Uganda Wildlife Education center).You will then be transfer to the airport for your next flight back home
