The Masai Mara National Reserve is the most popular game reserve and one of the best reserves to see wildlife in East Africa and probably Africa. Everything about this reserve is outstanding. The wildlife is abundant and the gentle rolling grasslands ensure that animals are never out of sight.
The Masai Mara National Reserve is Kenya’s premier wildlife park. The Masai Mara is the reason many visitors come to Kenya and its beauty and abundant wildlife won't disappoint. As of July, the vast herds of the Serengeti in Tanzania begin moving to the Masai Mara in the north, lured there by the rains and the fresh promise of green pastures. The crossing of the Mara River is as gruesome as it is fascinating. The animals begin to move South again by late October, in order to calve in the Serengeti in January.
The climate is gentle, rarely too hot and well-spread rainfall year round. Rain, when it falls almost always chooses the late afternoon or night. Between July and October, when the great wildebeest migration is in the Masai Mara National Reserve, the sensation is unparalleled.
